Cold reading is a term used by actors and other performers in theatre, television and film. A cold reading is a reading aloud from a script or other text without any rehearsal, practice or study in advance.
Cold readings are employed frequently in actor auditions, to allow the casting director or playwright to get a general idea of their performing capabilities.
Advance your cold reading skills in this on-camera class and learn how to connect to the material, be present and poised when performing in front of the camera and understand how to present a confident image during a cold reading audition. You will be presented with your sides as you arrive at class.
Cold readings, quick studies, total concentration, listening to your reader and last minute memorisation will be applied to cold reading scenes.
Each participant will then receive individual feedback.
This class is complemented by the Audition Technique workshop, although each can be taken without the other.
Cost: £25 per session (3 hours), per person. Max 6 per class.
