Scene study is a primary skill in which actors learn to share the stage and develop relationships. A scene is an event or division in a film, TV or theatre show.
A scene evolves by the involvement and relationship of the players and scene study enhances the actor’s ability to create relationships, take cues, learn timing and build memorisation skills.
In this workshop, actors are encouraged to examine their approach to the creative process using their unique personal perspective. Working with a variety of scripts, this class offers in-depth study including;
- breaking down the script
- identifying conflict
- establishing story and character
- extracting circumstances
- relationship
- substitution
- beats
- making choices
- intentions
- moment before
- entrances
- effective preparation.
You will be paired with different stage partners throughout the course.
